Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma has apologized for his distasteful tweet about testing positive for Coronavirus. The filmmaker took to Twitter to say that it was an April Fool’s Day prank.

“Anyway I am just trying to make light of a grim situation but the joke is on me and if I [did] offend anyone I sincerely apologise to them.” tweeted Ram Gopal Varma tweeted after facing backlash over the tweet.

The Rangeela director, on April 1st, tweeted that he was diagnosed with Covid-19. “My doctor just told me that I tested positive with Corona … Sorry to disappoint, but now he tells me it’s an April Fool joke Flushed face it’s his fault and not mine,” tweeted Varma.

Netizens began criticizing his flippant action over such a sensitive issue. The filmmaker who is in self-quarantine in Hyderabad, reportedly said that he was bored and that is why he tweeted it.

Sanjay Dutt shares workout video amid self-quarantine period

Actor Sanjay Dutt has been putting out videos urging the fans to ensure the safety of their families amid Coronavirus pandemic. The actor has also made donation to help out daily wage workers during this global health crisis. He is also ensuring that he stays fit whilst in self-isolation.

“My salute to all those who are working tirelessly to keep us safe. We appreciate your efforts & would also like to thank the entire nation for coming together for this. Stay home, stay safe. #JantaCurfew #COVID19,” he had posted a video recently.

Just like every celebrity, the actor has urged the fans to stay indoors to help contain the spread of the virus.

On Thursday, Virat Kohli and former England batsman Kevin Pietersen did an Instagram Live video session where the cricketers discussed the current scenario amongst various other topics. Since the conversation went for a long time Anushka had to interrupt.

Anushka left a comment on the live session that read, “Chalo chalo dinner time.”

Kevin posted a screenshot of Anushka’s comment and wrote, “When the BOSS said time was up, time was up! @anushkasharma @virat.kohli Hope you all enjoyed that? Just two dudes hanging out.”

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have been sharing goofy photos on their Instagram stories too. The couple pledged their support to PM-CARES Fund and CM Relief Fund and donated Rs. 3 crores.

Bollywood celebrities extend support as PM Modi asks for 9 mins to end ‘Darkness’ of Covid-19

PM Modi on Friday requested the people of India to support him fight the novel Coronavirus by maintaining social distancing but still coming together in their spirits. In a video message, he asked the citizens to give him nine minutes at 9 pm on April 5, Sunday. and show their solidarity by lighting up lamps, mobile flashlights, torches or diyas outside of their houses at that time. He urged the citizens to switch off all other lights in the house for those nine minutes and stand outside to show their togetherness. Bollywood celebrities extended their support to PM Modi’s new initiative and urged fans to do the same. Actors like Taapsee Pannu, Anubhav Sinha,  and others took to Twitter to share their reactions.

Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun: Maverick postponed until December 2020 amid Coronavirus pandemic

Many Hollywood movies have been postponed amid Coronavirus pandemic. Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun: Maverick will now hit the theatres on December 23, 2020, amid the global health crisis. The anticipated sequel to the 1986 classic was scheduled for June 24 release.

When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose”.
