Amitabh Bachchan donates Rs 1.8 crore to Telugu cinema workers, Chiranjeevi lauds Big B for ‘wonderful initiat

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has donated Rs 1.80 crore to Telugu cinema workers. South superstar Chiranjeevi, who starred with Big B in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, thanked him for his kind gesture on Twitter. Amitabh Bachchan has donated 12000 Corona Relief Coupons of Rs 1500 for the workers. Chiranjeevi tweeted, “Amit ji @SrBachchan has arranged 12000 Corona Relief Coupons of Rs 1500 each to be distributed to the Daily wage Film workers in Telugu States from the proceeds of #Family.A BIG THANK YOU to ‘BIG B’ for this wonderful initiative.These coupons can be redeemed at #BigBazaar stores.”

While Varun Dhawan’s next, Coolie No. 1, was slated to release on May 1, the new release dates are yet to be announced in the wake of Coronavirus. He will be starring with Sara Ali Khan for the first time in the remake of this 1995 classic.

Ayesha Takia and Farhan Azmi offer their hotel to BMC as a quarantine facility

It was only recently brought to light that Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan had offered their four-storey personal office to BMC to be used as a quarantine facility in the wake of Coronavirus. Actor Sonu Sood has also offered his hotel for medical experts and paramedical staff for accommodation. Joining the league is Ayesha Takia and her husband Farhan Azmi.

The couple owns a hotel in Colaba, Mumbai, called Gulf Hotel. Even though it’s a comparatively smaller hotel, they have been doing their bit and have offered it to the BMC and Mumbai police as a quarantine center. Farhan Azmi confirmed the news and said that theirs is a small hotel and they’re hoping that the government will support small businesses in the future.

J.J. Abrams developing Justice League Dark, Duster and The Shining series for HBO Max

Filmmaker J.J. Abrams is quite busy prepping for three upcoming series for HBO Max. He is currently developing Justice League Dark, Duster, and The Shining spin-off series called Overlook. All three series will be executive produced by Abrams and his wife along with Katie McGrath and Warner Bros. TV Group. Warner Bros. has give nod to straight-t0-series for all three of them.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, “Duster will be co-written by Abrams and LaToya Morgan (The Walking Dead, Parenthood) and was conceived by the former. It is set in the 1970s Southwest and revolves around the life of a gutsy getaway driver for a growing crime syndicate who goes from awful to wildly, stupidly, dangerously awful.”

The report further stated that the Justice League Dark series might feature Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, and Swamp Thing. But, the details of the series are kept under wraps.

As far as The Shining spin-off series Overlook is concerned, it will be a 10-episode drama. THR reported, “Overlook, a spinoff of sorts based on the iconic hotel featured in Stephen King’s 1977 novel and subsequent 1980 feature The Shining, features characters from the horror-thriller. It explores the untold, terrifying stories of the most famous haunted hotel in American fiction. The 10-episode drama, sources say, is being written and exec produced by Dustin Thomason and Scott Brown, who both previously worked on Castle Rock. The series has, per sources, also opened a mini writers room to get a jump on scripts during the industrywide production shutdown.”

Flashback Friday: Abhishek Bachchan recalls interesting incident from film Guru’s Tere Bina song shoot

Ever since the coronavirus lockdown, Bollywood celebrities have been sharing some flashback pictures from their childhood or from during the shooting of their old films. Actor Abhishek Bachchan made the best use of the #flashbackFriday trend and shared a still from the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s 2007 film Guru. Not only this, but he also wrote a long caption recalling interesting events from that time which involved his long-length hair for the shooting of his film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom which collided with the shoot of the song Tere Bina (also featuring Aishwarya Rai and happens to be the actor’s all-time favourite). He also shared how one of his friend’s Gaurav whom he lovingly called ‘Babu’ was involved in the shooting.

Sources say, “Bhansali and his leading lady Alia Bhatt were hoping (against hope) that the current coronavirus crisis would blow over after some time. But as weeks of a lockdown seem to be turning into months, the fear that Bollywood filmmakers won’t be able to shoot until 2021 is driving one of the world’s most active entertainment industries into a bundle of nerves.”

Says a source in the know, “Bhansali’s set is one of the biggest most detailed and expensive set ever created for a film. He was hoping to return to it after the lockdown. But soon the monsoon will set in. Before that, the set would have to be taken down.”

With no certainty of when the shooting would resume. Sad.

Revealing to Daily Beast, Hugh Jackman said that his years-long feud with Ryan began due to Scarlett Johansson. “How did it start? It’s gone back so long now… God, this is a classic sign where your feud has gone too long, where you don’t even know why or how it started!” Hugh said.

The Wolverine actor further revealed, “I met him back on Wolverine, and I used to ream him because I was very close friends with Scarlett [Johansson], and Scarlett had just married Ryan, so when he came on set I was like, Hey, you better be on your best behavior here, pal, because I’m watching, and we started ribbing each other that way, and then it all escalated with the Deadpool thing and him calling me out and trying to manipulate me through social media to do what he wanted.”

For years, they have been trolling each other on social media and fans absolutely love it.
