The trailer of the upcoming film Angrezi Medium was released recently and has been receiving love from the audience. Ahead of the release of the trailer, actor Irrfan Khan had shared a heartwarming message with the audience, which sure did melt many hearts.

The two-year-long wait to see Irrfan Khan on the screen had culminated with the release of the trailer. The actor had taken a break in 2018 to seek treatment for neuroendocrine tumour. Talking to a tabloid, director Homi Adajania said that filming the comedy has been a significant journey for Irrfan. He said that the whole team was aware of the odds Irrfan had beaten to get on the set. Praising Irrfan, he said that he is an infallible actor, but has now become one with his own emotions and his experience has enhanced the rawness and vulnerability of his scenes.

In the film, Radhika Madan plays his daughter who dreams of pursuing further studies in London. Homi said that on set, Radhika was learning from the best (Irrfan Khan). He said that from Kareena Kapoor Khan who has a small but crucial role to Dimple Kapadia, all the actors were invested in telling a heartening story.

Dimple Kapadia has been a part of Homi Adajani’s last three films as well. Talking about her, the director said that he is scared of the senior actor and said that she would kill him if he makes a film without her presence in it. Homi said he considers her a lucky mascot.

Angrezi Medium is set to release on March 20, 2020.

Way back in 1994, ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam had spoken about his plans to adapt Kalki Krishnamurthy’s fictional historical novel, Ponniyin Selvan into a film. However, due to several factors, the film had been on hold for all these years. It was only last December that the film went on floors in Thailand with actors from the Hindi and South film industry joining hands. The cast includes Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Karthi, Trisha and Jayam Ravi.

Recently, actress Sobhita Dhulipala was roped in to play the pivotal role of a princess who is a master of the Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam. The film is a multilingual project and will be released simultaneously in all major Indian languages.

The film tells the story of Arulmozhivarman, one of the kings of the Chola dynasty during the 10th and 11th century. Reportedly, Aishwarya will be seen playing the antagonist Nandini, a woman hungry for power who plots the downfall of the Cholas through her manipulations of her husband, Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar. Vikram is reportedly playing the role of prince Aditya Karikalan and it is said that Aishwarya has most of her scenes with the actor.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram had previously worked together in Mani Ratnam’s film Raavan. The team has wrapped the Thailand schedule and will be shooting across India for the rest of the year. The film will be released in two parts, with the first one releasing in 2021.

Music composer duo Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani have always been vocal about their displeasure towards remixes. They even warned people against remixing their work without consent or giving incorrect credits. Attempts by a section of the music industry publishers to remake/recreate an old song by adding or changing a couple of lines, crediting the new composer for it and delinking the original composers from their actual work, was unacceptable to them.

Now, their song Dus Bahane was recently recreated for the upcoming film Baaghi 3 starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor. The composer duo themself opted to recreate the song after 15 years. Talking about the same to a daily, Vishal said that this is the first time they have recreated their own song. He said that they opted to do this as a lot of the new remixes are substandard quickie jobs and have been made on low budgets and made by people who are looking to add their name to an already successful product. Vishal further said that they did not want this to happen to their creation and said that ‘Dus Bahane 2.0’ is much fresher than a lot of the music that is being made now.

Vishal also said that they would not want anyone else making a remix of their song. However, the composer said that remixes can never be better than the original.

Vishal had earlier in a conversation with Bollywood Hungama revealed that the recreation was a challenge for them as the song had already been shot and they had to match their composition with it. The duo retained the original voices of Shaan, KK, their own and added female vocals with Tulsi Kumar.
