There are reports that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are shooting at same venue Film City in Goregaon but keeping a distance. While it is true that the two have decided to keep it professional at their work place, the real reason why Ranbir doesn’t hop over to Alia’s set is something else.
Says a source in the know, “Ranbir wants to avoid coming face to face with Alia Bhatt’s director Sanjay Leela Bhansali at any cost. SLB and Ranbir had a massive fall-out when Ranbir made his debut in Bhansali’s Saawariya. Things got so bad between them that Ranbir vowed to never work with Bhansali again. And he kept his word.”
Apparently Ranbir turned down every role from Guzaarish to Ram Leela to Bajirao Mastani that was offered by Bhansali after Saawariya to Ranbir. In fact, sources say Ranbir was offered a part in the new SLB film Gangubai Kathiawadi which Bhansali is shooting with Alia Bhatt right now at Film City. Needless to say, Ranbir again declined the kind offer.
“No matter what, Ranbir Kapoor won’t work with Bhansali even if he is offered the best role in the world. He wants to stay away from Bhansali. This is the real reason he avoids going to Alia on the sets of Gangubai Kathiawadi.”
To go back in time, Ranbir Kapoor made his debut in 2007 in Bhansali’s Saawariya. Ranbir got praised. But the film flopped. And so did Ranbir’s relations with the film’s director.

Nikita Pearl Waligwa, who starred in the 2016 sports drama “Queen of Katwe”, has died. She was 15. Waligwa had been diagnosed with a brain tumour, Deadline quoted Ugandan media. Directed by Indian-American filmmaker Mira Nair, the Walt Disney film charted the rise of real-life chess prodigy Phiona Mutesi from a Ugandan slum. She began playing chess at the age of nine and went on to compete in international tournaments.

Last month, Bollywood Hungama had hinted that the makers of Sooryavanshi are looking at February 27 to launch the trailer of their much awaited film. The latest development, however, is that, the plan has been changed. And unfortunately for the fans, the launch has been pushed even further.
A source close to the project says, “The trailer of Sooryavanshi will be out on March 2. The makers are aware that the buzz for the film is insane. After all, it has superstar Akshay Kumar and director Rohit Shetty coming together for the first time. Also, it is a part of Shetty’s cop universe, a franchise that has become very big. Sooryavanshi releases on March 27 but they are confident that a 25-day window is enough for promotions.”
The source also adds, “Akshay Kumar’s lucky number is 9. The date 02-03-2020 adds up to 9. As a result, he is keen to get the trailer out on this day. Even February 27 was selected for the same reason for the launch. The previous Akshay Kumar’s film, Good Newwz, released on December 27 and its trailer was out on November 18. Also, the trailer of his 2019 Independence Day release Mission Mangal was also out on July 28. All these dates add up to 9. So, he wants to continue with this tradition.”
Sooryavanshi also stars Katrina Kaif, Jacloe Shroff, Gulshan Grover and Sikandar Kher. The character of Sooryavanshi was introduced in the climax of Ranveer Singh-starrer Simmba. This makes him the third character of the cop universe, the first being Singham, played by Ajay Devgn. Interestingly, Simmba had got a boost as it also had Singham’s character coming to the rescue in the climax. In Sooryavanshi, the madness is expected to go one step forward. It features both Singham and Simmba. On the first anniversary of Simmba in December 2019, the team of the film released a teaser that showed a small glimpse of all three super cops coming together in an exciting gun battle, presumably in the finale of Sooryavanshi. Those few seconds of visuals created a frenzy and fans along with the trade and industry hoping that the trailer will be even more exhilarating.

The Kartik Aaryan – Sara Ali Khan starrer Love Aaj Kal released last week on Friday. Directed by Imtiaz Ali the film opened to mixed reviews. However, thanks to the immense promotion and good rate of advance booking the opening day business of Love Aaj Kal saw impressive collections.
In this box office analysis, we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Love Aaj Kal while comparing the same to previous releases of 2020. Collecting Rs. 28.51 cr on its opening weekend Love Aaj Kal has managed to beat the collections of Malang that had collected Rs. 25.36 cr to emerge as the third highest opening weekend grosser of 2020. Though the collections of Love Aaj Kal do not manage to surpass other releases like Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior that collected Rs. 61.75 cr, and Street Dancer 3D that had collected Rs. 39 cr, the business of the film has surpassed other releases like Chhapaak that collected Rs. 19.02 cr, Panga that collected Rs. 14.91 cr, Jawaani Jaaneman that collected Rs. 12.83 cr, and Shikara that collected Rs. 4.95 cr.
Now all that remains to be seen is whether Love Aaj Kal survives the Monday test or will the film succumb to the mixed reviews and less than appreciative word of mouth.

Bigg Boss 13 participant Asim Riaz, who enjoys a huge fan following outside the house, ended his journey being the runner up of the show while Sidharth Shukla picked the winner’s trophy. The internet is divided on the results. While Sidharth’s dedicated fans cheer for him, many also think Asim would have been a more deserving one. A number of conspiracy theories are also doing the rounds. Asim, however, earlier dismissed rumours that said the winner was fixed beforehand.
In an interview, he has now opened up on finishing so close to the winning spot. He said he wanted to win just like everyone else, but it was a game that began with 22 contestants, and only one could win. Hence, although it initially felt a little bad, he accepts the result, and is grateful for the immense love that everyone showered on him.
It’s not just the audience, but WWE legend John Cena also rooted for Asim on social media and the internet went berserk. Asim says he is working since the past one decade, and it is bearing fruit now. He vouches to give his hundred percent and says he doesn’t even plan to take holidays.
His much-talked about proposal to Himahshi Khurana, and his chemistry with her, was also something he was quizzed about. He responded saying Himanshi also loved him back, but they both needed some time to talk to each other about their lives, past journeys and what they plan to do in the future. He also says he has no regrets and no complaints against any of his housemates, and would always greet them, including Sidharth Shukla, warmly whenever they cross path.
